Don't Cry Blue

I hear those engines running on the road away from home
A sound like thunder calling out my name
I listened hard the first time I heard 'em roll along
Listened and I've never been the same

      Don't cry, don’t cry Blue
      I'm coming home to you
I'll walk with you this morning and sleep with you tonight
So don't cry now don’t’ cry Blue

The highway's just a two-lane road connecting either way
And I've seen enough of this end for a while
I've got to go a distance ‘til I know I've seen a change
And I've got to know the feel of every mile

When my head is aching full of everywhere I've been
I'll turn my face around the other way
I'll meet you at the mailbox and read you all my cards
and tell you what I really meant to say
