Love Them Both

It takes some fancy footwork
To avoid the middle ground
When she starts throwing those pots and pans
And he just won’t calm down
Yes it takes some fancy dancing
To keep all the partners in touch
When their old true love song comes out wrong
And I love them both so much

She wants some independence
He wants a whole lot more
And my eardrums ring like telephones
When their dishes hit the floor
They both need a shoulder to lean on
And I want to keep in touch
When their solid ground starts rolling around
And I love them both so much

I’ve seen some matches and some mistakes
Lord knows he never made us perfect
It takes some time and a sense of rhyme
And once in a while some music
Makes it easier to dance and to keep my friends  in touch
When their old true love song comes out wrong
And I love them both so much
